    Re: welders

They kept tearing the paper holder off the wall in the Shipping Dept. bathroom. So I welded to 1/4" diamond plate, and landed the screws in the metal studs in the wall(24" centers).
Its been holding up for 2 years now.
I don't for one second think they won't eventually break this one too. Even if it means ramming it with the 1200 lb floor scrubber. Have found foot prints on it and the toilet, I think someone was smoking underneath the vent fan.
The aluminum casting didn't flow as well as the plate, and the filler wire (4043), but it's functional. https://www.weldingweb.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

    Re: welders

Not wishing to highjack this thread, but I just couldn't resist posting my solution to keep TP in a couple of the latrines at a local, popular hiking trailhead. These latrines are located within a campground, but in the off-season when the hosts are gone, nobody was keeping the paper stocked. So, I, initially, just sawed off the 90º end, and added my own padlock, so I could replenish the supply. Since the access road is snowy/icy in winter, I decided that I'd better increase the stock, so I made a simple add-on bracket to double the paper.
