    Drive wheel on mig welder

I picked up a knurled drive wheel for my HTP mig welder so I can use flux core. I ordered it for .030 and .035 wire. It is stamped on one side with 10R and on the other side with 12R. Usually the wheel is stamped with size in mm, but neither of these numbers seem to translate to the size I ordered. Anyone know what those numbers mean?

AFAIK, the HTP migs do not have knurled rollers for 030 cored wire, only 035 and larger. 10R is the designation for the 1.0mm (because they are European machines), but it still works with 035 (0.9mm) wire. The 12R is for 1.2mm cored wire, aka 045 diameter.

That being said, the 10R groove can still run 030 wire pretty decently. I've done it.

Thanks, I'll give it a go tomorrow and see what happens with both sizes.
