    new here

    Hello,
Not much experience here but I am getting ready for a major car restomod fabrication. I have welded body panel patches pretty successfully in the past. I have owned Lincoln 100 flux core welder for couple of decades and just got a used hd175 220v unit for some structural welding I plan to do. appreciate the welcome!!!

Welcome! A decent GMAW unit with .023 wire & C25 will probably afford better welds for you on thin metals like body panels.

That's the reason I got the 175HD as well- to get gas setup on a decent 220v welder. The 100 will remain flux core. I tried my luck with oxy-acetylene brazing as well- could not keep the heat low enough to prevent the sheet metal from warping. Wire feed pot welding and wet rag cooling the panels worked quite well.
