The piece I cut out was 1 inch, the piece I put in is 1 inch as well

The only place it was wore was down the center where that hole is at in the first picture

Now a question for you...What is that thing your workin on in your picture?

No it just wore right through the center at the point, pretty much the same place it wore through on the last one but that one wore through the floor base too. They let that one go way too long. Once this stuff gets a groove in it it goes pretty quick. In the first picture you can see the groove its wearing in the plate behind the hole, and where the hole was it has a nice groove about 1/4 inch deep started already in the floor base. They took notice to a small littler hole about a week or 2 ago and thats how fast it grew.

To add to that post up there, the rest of that plate i cut out except for the point is still about 3/3 to an 1 inch thick....the centers and the sides at the floor get the worst of the wear

Is it AR400 or some other type of wear resistant steel? Could the middle where it wears be hardfaced?

That is one expensive piece of plate. That sort of stuff has to be ordered around here, and they won't sell less than a full plate.

Its AR Plate, not sure what grade it this one was. It could be hardsurfaced I guess how it would work I dont know, but they arent really worried about it this piece lasted 4 years they said, thats some pretty good wear there. For abnother company we do work for we put 6 inch strips running across the floor about 1 1/2 inch apart, these guys dont wanna do that though

Yes it is, they usually get a truckload once a year from what they told me all full sheets...I wonder what all that costs
No worries though that piece I cut out wont go to waste we will cuts strips off of it where we can and use it where we need a smaller piece
