    Good amber light for truck

I need something similar to this for my truck. I plan on mounting it on the headache rack. Any advice on wiring or brands of lights that are any good? Name: Amber lite.jpg

Ecco minibars are good and have a wide viewing angle https://www.eccoesg.com/us/en/products/minibars . The Ecco ED3701 surface mount strobes https://www.eccoesg.com/us/en/produc.../ed3701-series are exceptionally bright and have a very wide viewing angle, wider that the minibars. Grote used to be my go to but these, IMHO, are much better..............Mike

As far as LED's go.... You get what you pay for.

cheap chinese Ebay/amazon crap will fail. (or turn yellow or fill with moisture)

Buy Whelen or similar brand named tested equipment.

I recently bought a Light bar for the top of my Jeep. It was $600 BLACK OAK LED ....

I also have RIGID brand LED lights on my Kubota and pickup.

    BUY ONCE / CRY ONCE.

    Also,
    Secure /mount them well.

    Otherwise they WILL get stolen.
use tamper proof nuts & bolts.

Feniex Industries is the new up and comer popular with all my EMS and firefighter friends. Made in Texas. Every bit as good as Whalen for half the price. https://www.fleetsafety.com/feniex-p...ng-light-bars/

    Actually YES
    Louie just reminded me....

I DO have a couple Feniex small lights... and they compare to the Whelen TR3 at about half the price.

I still prefer Whelen... but if yer on a budget..... they are worth looking into.

Always went with Whelen and similar. There’s a good reason why they cost more.

Re: Good amber light for truck

We usually run these whelen mid size strobes, one each side of the rack. They last about a year or two if you use them a lot working in the city like we do... been thinking about switching to led versions and a different brand as whelen just doesn't last as long as they used to...

Fo the last ten years or so we used all strobes that looked CLEAR but flashed amber.

    Even the directional light bars.....

As ronsii mentioned i switched to led also.

Re: Good amber light for truck

Im liking the idea of 2 Ecco led beacons on each side of the rack instead of just 1 mini lightbar. That seems to be what most guys are running.

Re: Good amber light for truck

Or should I go with just 1 beacon in the center of the rack. Mostly what I want the lights for is acting as sort of a pilot car for when we haul equipment up the grade real slow...

Am I missing something? They let you use straps to tie that machine down?

As long as your tiedowns meet the minimum's for the weight and points of securement for what you're hauling you're golden a lot of times we don't tie it down if it just a 'farm call'

I’ve had a few of those

But it’s usually to bury the neighbors dog cat or horse

It’s always best to never let your neighbors know you you own a backhoe

If you can’t keep it hidden you need to get the “sleuth” model backhoe, John. Black Cat...

Or if you’re a CASE guy...

What came to mind first was getting busted having an affair with the New Holland parts counter gal on loan from a different branch.

Totally hypothetical of course, but “Farm Call”, right?

Hey, there was an amber light by the traffic light where SR85 crosses MC 85 in Buckeye, looked like about a 12 inch unitx, I left it there for you.
