    Bobcat upgrade ?

I have a Bobcat 225 with Kohler engine I bought in 2005. I dont do too much field work, but its been an awesome machine. It has 260 hours on her now. I was thinking I might like the newer version with the EFI . Are the newer machines as well built or better built than this older unit ? Trying to decide wether to upgrade now or not. Thanks.

    Re: Bobcat upgrade ?

I just bought a new bobcat friday and i was happy because I got a new last years model. The guy at the LWS said the new ones have remote start from a key fob. T each his own but in a field work setting i see the key fob lasting about as long as a fart in a whirlwind.
Just my opinion but simple is better.
The guy i deal with was not impressed with the new ones because of the added electronics.

run yours until it dies, then think about a new welder.

We have Bobcats with over 1500 hours. Run yours until it wont then look into something else. Unless you need more amps than it produces, but then you could just run a welder off the Kva plug with Miller's adapter.

For the 16 hours you use it every yearI wouldn’t bother doing anything aside from service for the next 45 years, then consider swapping it out.
