    Wooden Step (No Welding)

I built a wooden step to help my wife get into bed. After she tried it out, she decided that it needed to be higher so I added a 2” addition to the step. In addition to the extension, I also added an outrigger to stabilize it if you stepped on the edge of the step. I used biscuits to attach the extension to the original step, because it would be the most minimalistic method and still allow for some lateral adjustment during gluing.

    Great job!

Now you need to put a bottom on it, hinge the top, and you'll have a small storage nook for whatever the wife wants to store. Maybe add some decorative ironwork to give it that super-sexy traveling-chest/toolbox look.

Looks really good, Don!! Professionally done. Gorilla glue is my go to for wood projects.

Good idea to hinge the top.

I do have Gorilla glue and I have used it. For some reason I just used Elmer's waterproof carpenter's glue for this project.

    Re: Wooden Step (No Welding)

It took me a while to respond because I just had a double robotic hernia surgery. I was fading fast from the anesthesia, when I entered the operating theater, so I had to do a Google search for these pictures. The first picture shows the entire robotic surgery setup.

The next picture shows the surgeons work station. The surgeon basically controls the robot with two joysticks.

And last but not least the nurses station. The robot arm is shown in several positions at the same time.

The advantage of this process is that the success rate is excellent and because it is minimally invasive the recovery time is reduced.
