    classic 300D Perkins or Kubota?

Hi, this has probably already been covered but I can't seem to find anything with the search function.

I'm going to buy an old classic 300d and I'm wondering which is the better engine for reliability.

these machines have been around for a long time and most of them are fairly high hours so durability is going to be a key factor.

the kubota seems to be more common, at least in the used ones for sale.

any insights would be appreciated, thank you.

Red-d-arc welder rentals uses Kubota. I value their experience. That said, I'm not sure I would be afraid of a Perkins.

Both are good engines, I prefer Kubota but that’s just my preference. Get the best deal you can based on the overall condition of the machine.
