    Why can't we edit our post's ?

Most Forum's I've used have the ability to edit. Why not here ?

You can edit your posts for a short time after posting. The reason that the editing gets locked after a period of time is that people had gone back and deceptively edited their own posts in the middle of some heated threads and completely changed the meaning of someone else's response.

Frank, could you or one of the other moderators correct the title of one of my threads ? It's in the Miller section. I mistakenly put in the title "MD 200 s" , it should be titled "MD 300 s". Just change the 2 to a 3. Thanks.

Rather than make a new post about such needs, you can click the red and white triangle to the upper right of the post needing change, and then ask in the 'reporting' box that opens. That message goes directly to the mods so should be seen sooner and without alerting everyone else.

Oldiron2, thank you. I never paid much attention to the "ATTENTION" icon. Learn a new trick almost every day.

This should be a sticky! Or at least in note in a sticky. I'm a bad typer and noticed way after the fact how bad I can be. I did a bunch of searchs for this problem and this post did not pop up. I had to browse around.
    Thanks, your reason are understandable.

If you notice a change needed after the elapsed time, report the post and ask us to edit for you.....no biggie.

Yup, I got that. Just thought this subject should be easier to find.
Thanks either way. I'm on rccrawler.com, it's a vBullet forum too. I was just cornfused even trying to find something on "how to" because the "posting permissions" says I can edit. I guess different forum different problems. I like it here so far. If that matters.

We've recently changed over to a newer version of vBulletin® and they are still working out some of the kinks and bugs hidden in the nooks and crannies. The search function is one of those areas that still needs a bit of tweaking, but they are working on it.

I noticed. I feel for you Mod's. One thread I read through everyone gave you guys a pretty hard time. These things take time to get all the bugs out, there's a lot going on. I just wanted to bring it to your attention which i'm sure it has been. Great forum I'm enjoying it a lot. And I've gotten answers to questions. I tried a bunch of search phrases and then just started page by page in this section until I found this thread on the subject.
Keep up the great work!!!! Thanks for a great forum!
