    What a week

Monday we had over 15 inches of rain in 12 hours, and then got a call from my daughter that she was in an accident. She wasn't hurt, and the car can be repaired. Its Thursday and things are looking better. The water is finally receding, and hopefully by the weekend the water will be off the road.I always wanted ocean front property. Hope everyone else had a better week. Here's a few pictures of the water.

Glad to see your house is dry. I'm in Alexandria and we didn't get half that.

    Re: What a week

Glad to see your house dry, we only had 8 inches that day. Hope you didn't lose too much in your shed. I talked to someone in Arnaudville that got 17 inches, it takes time for that much to run off.

Looks like you set that foundation elevation at just the right height.

Glad your home stayed high and dry. Hope the stuff in the barn isn't too badly damaged.

How did your water supply and sewer do?
That sometimes is more of a problem than the water getting near the house.

Glad to see it didn't get to the house though........

Be glad you are not here, this county would have assessers out there reassessing the property as water front recreational property and tripling your land taxes. Hope you guys dry out soon.

Real glad your daughter's OK cajun and that your home didn't turn into a houseboat.

When the NWS flash flood alerts came over K-Love stating how much rain there was, my first thought was I hope all affected LA forum members are OK and stay safe. Pretty much the same way one would think about family.

    Re: What a week

Thanks guys! Everything that could be damaged by the water was elevated just in time. I had a few welding jobs to do, but since it'll be awhile before I can get back in the shed, I passed them on to friend. Water and sewer wasn't a problem, thank god. Just a little inconvenience.

    Re: What a week

I'm glad you and your daughter are OK, as well as the house! I hope there wasn't too much damage.

But "the shed"? That's not a shed, that's an enormous, barn-type thing
