They can... all it takes to fix them is a little O ring... no biggie. I'd fix my quick disconnects in a heartbeat over not having them.

Interesting to note that even in the matched set the little grooves are there to set them apart... I guess the other set was just sloppy machining...

Little grooves cut like that in most any fitting denotes that it is a left hand thread.

Every fuel fitting picture in this thread has the little grooves in the middle of the hex meaning left hand fuel fitting side.

The check valves, the flame arrestors, the regulator nipple nut, the quick connects and the hoses all have that on fuel side.

Yea.... my old Plymouths had the L on some of them too... until they got old and rusty... Punched a few of those IHC studs out and replaced them with RH's. Might have used a torch for heat, just to keep us on topic...

You take ½ studs to LH and the other RH Maybe ever other one.

Now take the vehicle to tire store with your camera.

Yea... got them all. Some guys with the old Mopars would swap out a rear axle or a front drum with one from the other side to get all RH threads on those too...

Salvaged this today from would be trash

There was a bunch more hoses but they had some corrosion etc this one is in great shape. It’s either 50 or 100 feet i have to check and clean it.

Torch seems perfectly fine could use some TLC, it’s a Victor. Keep it as a spare or for acetylene if I ever need it

Would have been a home run if it had flashback arrestors on it.

My LWSs all send their torches to the same place to be repaired or refurbished.

I have done so with two or three and although many like to do it themselves for a very reasonable amount of money they come back walnut shell or bead blasted and looking and operating like new.

Personally I feel it’s a very small price to pay for peace of mind.

I sent my first and last torch out for a leak at cutting valve. When I got it back everything was not only wrench tightened,tip nut and cutting attachment to handle nut were so tight I couldn't break them loose with a wrench while holding them in my other hand. All 3 needle valve packing nuts bottomed out. Jackass at LWS acted like he didn't see a problem with any of that. To his credit he did take it in back and supposedly hooked it up and told me it was "awesome" didn't "pawp or nothing".

Doesn't that kind of crap just make you crazy.

None of that should be beyond hand tight as tightness has zero effect on leakage and is meant to come apart quickly by hand.

Like the way Miller/Smith uses uses knurling on the torch tip, cutting head and cutting tip. All obviously meant to be tools free.
