It looks a little like the Eye of Sauron. I like it.

I also dig the chain hook that Liz pointed to.

One of these days I will get a plasma table. I have a guy I know that just asked me for a couple of sings for his front door. The typical letter in a circle. Once I draw it up, I will take it to a friends plasma table.

New light sculpture - firing on all cylinders. Recycled header pipes from a BMW M20 from the local classifieds. The whole process of coming up with this design took many iterations over the weekends but it was thoroughly enjoyable.

I like it was just digging around in one of my sheds and found another cummins pump in one of the NOS piles wonder if it would fit into a 'sculpture'

Re: Scrap metal art or projects

Found another channel on Youtube when I was looking for mailbox ideas.

Never knew you could do that with Muriatic Acid and Hydrogen Peroxide. Love the look, that's for sure, and it's neat to see the chemical reaction take place right before your eyes!

Will the Hydrogen Peroxide neutralize the Muriatic Acid? I've done a lot with Muriatic Acid in the past, and never found that you could just let it dry because it would keep working even then. I've always had to neutralize it with something like baking soda -- and the only surefire way to stop the stuff has been to actually cook it off with the forge!

Alrighty... rootted it out while warming up my weekend chicken snack ... I thought all this stuff was NOS... but not sure on the pump cause it don't have any plascaps stuck in it... and apparently moisture got into the fuel inlet/outlet.... I guess... anyways there is rust in there the input shaft is not frozen but only moves about a degree back-n-forth... no apparent endplay or runout though... throttle shaft moves 30 degrees+/-

Backstory on this stuff is it was in 2 - 40 foot cans for 10-20 years from a construction outfit up north, we helped them 'clean up' which involved taking most of the stuff in the cans and either throwing it in a recycle bin(metal stuff) or a junk bin(garbage to dump) there were literally thousands of name brand, Cat,Deere,GM,ford,etc... parts in sealed packages - gaskets, orings, seals, bushings, bearings, injectors,p umps,etc... I'll bet there was a hundred grand in parts that went bye bye saved what I could but I was there to work not fill my truck

I recently sold this scrap iron project. I’ll never achieve “show” status fame like some of the posters here have and WILL, but I’m pretty happy none the less.

632 CPL belongs to an NTC 350 Big Cam 3 engine. Too bad about the rust. Probably about a $1200 rebuild at a Cummins dealer.

A batch of 24 smaller bells is complete. Except for the three in front, these have been rusted then stabilized and clear coated.

Some hooks, candy canes and accessory "S" hooks for the items I made a little while ago.
I didn't like the way the finish turned out on the braided/twisted one so sand blasted it.

Some items were formed hot, some cold worked.
