Weldanpower 225 g7 left side misfire

So I got a 225 g7 for cheap managed to get it running maintenanced it new oil, filter ,fuel filter, plugs (ngk 3522), air cleaner, battery ect. It fires right up idles high then comes down seems to run pretty well on high idle but once idle comes down the left seems to misfire intermittently while the right runs super smooth. Any advice I've never dealt with one of these ,pointers on where to start I'm very mechanically able I was thinking maybe a bad plug, maybe a sticky valve, anybody have compression specs? Is there something I should start looking at or am I on the right track..?

What ? Are you part of the generation that wants " everyone to do it for me" ? The time it took you to rudely respond to your own post several things could have happened with basic mechanics 101-
Google your welder. Theres endles pages of parts diagrams, user guides, etc.
What was the compression on both cylinders ? ( cold and hot )
Does it have clean fuel in it and when was the last time carbs were cleaned ?
Whats the condition of the wires and plugs ?
Does the misfire sound come from the carb or exhaust side ?
That's a good start for a person with 2 posts.

Which engine do you have? Give us enough info to answer. Missfire would tend to be electrical or sticking valve.

Why is that people will reply to negativity and insults faster than anything? and do I sound like I'm the generation that wants it done for me? I'm the generation that knows better than to spend money on **** that's not nessesary and ask someone who's more experienced with his application. Brigg and Stratton twin, pulled the head valve is not stuck, new gas, carb was disassembled and cleaned, misfire coming from the exhaust side, haven't done a compression test yet, new plugs, wires look nice not rotten and arcs strong to ground, and I looked on Google and found nothing that explained my issue so I came here.no carbon build up, new air and fuel filter ,new plugs, new oil and filter. I'm leaning towards the coil but suspicious of compression does anybody have a compression spec.? Or the magnets on the flywheel are they replaceable looks like previous owner didn't gap coil correctly the head of screw is rubbed flush with magnet.

So you've done all this- including pulling the head. Without doing a compression test first ? Brilliant. So what have you found ? Just because a valve is not stuck doesn't prove its not leaking- thus a compression test. Specs ? Dont need no specs. Test both cylinders- if they are within 10 psi or so , of each other they should be good. If one is way down then it could be a bunch of things.

Re: Weldanpower 225 g7 left side misfire

I've figured exactly nothing out..that's why I'm here ...and what if they are both out of spec and I'm running in circles here.. I just wanted to confirm the valve wasn't sticking. And my compression tester was put in a box that I was unable to locate at the time and i just found it gonna test them tomorrow. If it's low I have a bad valve or seat or cam lobe is s*** or head gasket failure... But like I said the magnet on flywheel looks like it wasn't gapped correctly by previous owner as the screw head has been rubbed flush...

    What’s the frequency Kenneth?

Frequency is the number of Hertz (or cycles) your welder runs at, loaded and unloaded. Should be 60 Hertz loaded, ~ 61 Hertz unloaded. This is typically determined by operating speed=RPM's. There are several good rebuild videos on Facebook for the 2 cylinder opposed Briggs and Stratton, watching them should give you a pretty good idea of what to look for. Onan 2 cylinder opposed engines are similar and may yield some good info also. A Facebook search for "two cylinder opposed Briggs and Stratton "
or "Onan 2 cylinder" should give you lots of useful info. Good luck

I wonder if the OP goes to the Garden Tractor forum and asks for welding advise because he is welding a garden cultivator,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If you want advise on how to weld the head to the engine block to improve the compression,, we are here for you!!

Who would waste $$$ on a head gasket,, when the welder will still run on high speed correctly,,
(I think the welder is used at high speed when welding,,, )

MANY small engines run poorly at idle, because of the 10% ethanol fuel that has been sitting in the carb for the last 6 years.
Be thankful the welder runs good at high speed, and show us the pretty weld beads the machine will create!!

    How old is the engine.

You find on some engines the distributor was not oil and it has a wound out. It will rattle around giving a misfire.

There are other problems that can happen to distributor too but lack of being oil is one I find the most of time.

Do a compression test to see how much difference there is between the 2.

This was an old thread (unneedingly resurrected), the OP apparently long ago did as you have just suggested, and perhaps it's best (considering what he deserved based on Post 2, and the fact that tomorrow is Easter) to just let him and his thread stay buried.

I think he doesn't take suggestions well and doesn't play well with others.

Re: Weldanpower 225 g7 left side misfire

I just read through this thread again, apparently, I misread it the first time I read it, or possibly misread it this time. My response to the frequency question was to answer generated electricity "frequency" - Hertz, when I believe the question was really about frequency of the misfire. sorry! I am not on here often, and this bears out several things, 1. the importance of asking complete questions 2. the importance of giving accurate info including all the steps you have taken to find the problem, 3. having the patience to wait for an intelligent response 4. not assuming anything 5. I would hate for this site to turn into another Pirate 4x4. Good luck!
An easy way to check for a bad spark plug is to swap cylinders with the two plugs to see if the misfire follows the plug, no cost and takes about two minutes.
