OK. This is going to sound dorky but this is what I do.

Rattle can in hand , arm raised, with elbow bent backwards. Shaking in this position BEHIND your shoulder to work tricep muscles.

I was way too uncoordinated to play tennis. Heck I couldn’t even ride a two wheel bike til I was ten. True story.

My problem as a kid was I could never find anyone my age to play tennis that was worth a dang. Then as an adult it’s not like I’m asking strangers to play Tennis and most adults can’t play tennis worth beans either lol. Now I’m too old and achy to go chasing a ball on the court for fun and competitive sport.

I'm an unathletic powerlifter type. My dad on the other hand is a freak athlete. He picked up tennis when he was in his 70's and can not find anyone to play now that he is 86. His focus now is pickle ball.

Hey what do you know, I learned something today in a place I never would have imagined. Woofle ball tennis. Yeah I played all sports as a kid and could and would run all day long. Sigh those were the good old days.

I rolled a 1" wide x 1/8" flat steel hoop and welded it inside the barrel, with 3/16" of it proud of the edge. (There's a picture on the previous page that shows it better) The lid when closed overlaps the lip, so as far as Arizona conditions are concerned - that's weatherproof . I have the flag, wanted pics without it (and all stickers on it) so it'll be mounted last.

The neighbors really dig it - the wife, not so much.

I don't know what this is actually - it's for my stepson. He's a single apartment dweller but his mom wanted me to make him something for Christmas. Could put a candle on it, maybe a "collectible". He's a typical late 20's geek/video game playing/comicon type.

Picked up a karate sand bag to use as a shotbag for beating on metal and a good old HF mallet. Made a couple patterns out of 22ga to add to the collection, then cut some flower shapes out of 26ga copper and went at it.



Experimented with heat - annealing and quenching with water, CO2, compressed air - whatnot.





Finished off my almost depleted C25 bottle practicing and adding to my settings cheat sheet before picking up a new one. Tomorrow I hope to make some more hummingbirds. Love these long weekends.

Very nice work. BD1 used to make and post a lot of very nice silverware art here and in a few other threads. He has been quiet lately on here but it still pops in every once in a while.

The missus wanted a hummingbird too so yesterday I put a couple more together. Now I'm waiting on her to pick which bird and which flower she wants so I can finish them up lol!



Looking at the beautiful ones by Saltlick, now I know what to do with all the leftover spoons I'm quickly accumulating! The flower is really nice too.

Some of the sheet metal guys that hang out at the HAMB like to make mallets out of old baseball bats for beating on the shot bags. Basically the bottom part of the bat becomes the handle and they cut off a chunk of the top for the head. Not sure if that's something you would be interested in or not. I've got a bat set aside for the purpose, but I haven't made it yet.


Personally, I would prefer a smaller version, but you get the idea ...

A friend of mine who sold pallet racking and commercial shelving gave me all his crops of perforated angle iron when he retired.

I've since used up all the longer lengths but I still have buckets of 12" -18" pieces.
