source for a wire feed motor (not gear box) Lincoln 175HD

I think my wire feed motor is on its last legs. It got stuck but I was able to clean it and get it going again. I suspect not much longer. Has anyone found a source?
Could not find anything in search. If no direct source maybe somebody measured the size of the body, the spacing of the mounting holes and the diameter of the pinion gear? I found several generic wire feed drive motors but have not thought to measure mine when I had it out- I thought I could just go order by model number. Unfortunately the only option is ordering the whole wire feed assembly. I'd rather buy just the motor for $35 or so then a $150+ wire feed drive assembly...

Usually it is the transmission that needs to be cleaned and lubed if it gets stuck, or motor bushings at the very most. Look into those first.

You are aware that you are blowing an upgrade opportunity here right?

    Thank you for the reply.
    Upgrade ?!;-) Do tell...
I removed the tiny motor from the gearbox and it was stuck. I got it to move and work but it felt a bit rough at times It also started whining when I set the highest speed and started slowing down. I did find metal shavings stuck to the outside of the motor housing where the magnets are. I think the little guy is pretty much a toast, or will be very soon.

Looks great. Only one small issue- my budget was $225. The Lincoln made it ;-)

Hey, just tryin’ to help a buddy out! Another thing you could do is buy a lathe to make new motor bushings and turn the armature.

Why if I can just buy a $35 RC motor? It looks like that's what they used.

OK So I removed the drive unit and measured the motor:
The cylinder body has 1.4" (36mm) diameter
    is 2" (50mm) long
The spacing on the M3 mounting holes is about 1" (25mm)
The gear diameter is little over 5/16" (8mm)
the motor seems to be 12v nominal.
If anyone runs across one that's similar please let me know. Mine is still spinning but i don't know how much longer...
    Thank you

How bout some close up pics???

There could be a stamping on the rear insert... have seen a few drive motors like this... also if any metal(ferrous) bits get inside it will cause problems like you are seeing!! the good news is you can clean them out but takes time and patience

This is the unit. Unfortunately, unbeknown, while I was cleaning the motor with carb cleaner the writing came off the sticker on the motor. I just remembered that the model of the wire drive unit is 7801,

I agree with others to check inside the motor.
I had similar issue with my 35 year old Hobart- no low speed and erratic high speed.
I found one of the two permanent magnets became detached from the housing and was stuck against the armature.
Epoxied back on and still running 5 years later.

And.. don't use any more solvents like carb cleaner on it... they will eat other things inside the motor too

Yes that was a mistake. I blew it dry with air immediately. Her is one I found online that is physically near identical:
