Re: How to upload/post a picture

Android device, picture upload questions:

A - When using WeldingWeb site's "File Upload Manager - Manage all files that you have uploaded" and there, when selecting an image and attempting to drag selected picture from "Home" dialog box, to "Attachments, 2. Drag previously uploaded files into this area to attach them" dialog box, selected pictures do not respond to "finger swipe" when attempting to drag them.

Any thoughts, please?

B - I thought about using code to type the desired image locations into message body. However, images that have not been previously attached to a message do not appear in the MySettings/Miscellaneous/Attachments file. Thus, I'm unable to ascertain URL information
for not-previously-attached images, so as to be able to attach same via code. Part B's question is: Where are images "parked" after being uploaded, but before their first attachment to a post?

Any thoughts suggestions or workarounds for either scenario?

Thanks

I have no idea what all this "Drag picture here" does either...

Don't seem to work with my phone or PC...
So to upload pics from the phone I just use the "Basic Uploader" and get them from my gallery...

But make one wrong move....And start all over again....

Re: How to upload/post a picture

Thanks, Zapster.

I'll try that here and now:

Clicking "Manage Attachments" took me to the troubled "drag pictures" page.

Now trying "paper clip" icon...

That won't work. I forgot that the desired images aren't with me. I had uploaded earlier and then was going to post and attach when I had idle wait time - like now. Even if I had just image URL info at WW, I could do something with that. I can see the thumbnails, I know they're here. But can't click or hold or drag or menu, to get properties.

Oh well, for now.

From General Settings

Enhanced Attachment Uploading:

Enhanced Attachment Uploading on

The forum features an enhanced attachment uploading system that allows you to reuse existing attachments via a drag and drop interface.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use the enhanced system. If you experience problems with the interface, try disabling this option

Hmmm..... Seems like maybe the photo handling capability may not be compatible with Android?

I selected:
Enhanced Attachment Uploading off

Still no go.

There must be some way to ID a pic's URL?
Having the URL address would allow other posting options.
Again, when a pic can be seen in thumbnail along with a description of its full size, it must be somewhere at WW... But where?

Why does this: [xTTACH=CONFIG]1001391 (I changed the "A" to an "x") not display the opened image?

Instead it displays the clickable: xttachment 1001391

Attachment 1001391

try this: [xTTACH=CONFIG]996781
Attachment 996781

Now996781 image worked... why?
why not 1001391?
1001391 is a good image and location, but takes a click to open it.

Just another test...

Just a test to see which is easier.

And uploaded direct from PC:

And direct from PC seems to be the ticket!
