    20A breakers. I have a 50' 12/3 cord. I generally only use the 110 for tacking, which I'm sure it will do fine. I can't get HD to ship it to their store for free, and they want more for shipping than the adapter... still not expensive, had just hoped not to pay it.

    You could also switch to a hospital grade receptacle, and plug end. They have a green dot on them and are rated for 20A, If you ever take your welder to a friend's house you can still use it. +1 on the 12/3 cord.

    Is the issue the receptacle in the wall, or the receptacle on the end of the cord?

    Either way, replacing with a 20a receptacle will allow it to be used for both 20a and 15a plugs, because the receptacles have at T slot that accommodates both 15a and 20a
