Thanks to for the though and the reminder.
Well mathmatically its easy to figure but realistically with efficency and power factor correction etc. I think its a try it and see.

Geeze those Hondas are expensive!!!! So question is, something like a Ranger like was mentioned here w/ built in 11k generator, Blue or Red or whatever, is looking like a better and better idea, yes?

What Honda model are you using? I have an EU6500i which I thought was the largest inverter generator that Honda offered.

Don't log in here often, but here I am and saw that this thread got revived. Thanks for the updates and info on the compressor that was used jlames and the confirmation Wookie. That info is helpful.

Something that would be nice to know is what it was able to cleanly cut using that compressor and if the 42i was running on 110, or 220.

I am officially on long term disability now and starting to work through the social security stuff, so I'm on hold for a while, but definitely have a plasma on my short list of things to try to sneak by the wife as soon as I can figure out the financial aspects.

    Happy welding,

    Bill

On 110v, there are some videos on youtube showing the 42i cut 1/2" at its maximum. On 220v, it will do 1 inch and there are plenty of examples on our forum on our site. You can use any air compressor really.
