i agree with fluxthis - awesome bed on that dodge! looks like something out of madmax. very cool.

here's my rig in progress. not very pretty, but i like her.

i took a mechanic service body, chopped the back cabinets off, gutted some shelving, cut off a heap of sheet metal, added a 3/8' table, made two new cabinet doors out of one existing door, new led taillights, table worklights. lots of fun, will post more pics when i get my mudflaps and fenders back on.

Awesome Bed fordsux8269, I'd love to see some more pics too, like the wheel well tool boxes. One question though............Where's the spare tire, or do you not carry one on the dually?

Absolutely nothing wrong with that rig. The changes you made look very practical and appear to be well done.

I look forward to more pics when you are finished.

    Desert Rider,

That's really a neat set up. I can see some thought went into the lay out...Every thing has a place, everything in its place. How long did it take you to clean it up and make sure all the cords were rolled up and the rod holders lined up so you could take the pic?

I was thinking the same thing!

But then again, there are those that are meticulous about that sort of thing!
    not me so much!
but my dad is one, not one tool gets put up without cleaning and put in its proper place, and cords are to be rolled and wrapped just right!
Take his tool box for example, open any drawer and its like looking at a display case of fine jewelry!

Re: Let's see the welding rigs

Yep, I tend to roll mine up and make sure everything is in it's place at the end of the day, but most days I will range from 1 to as many as 6 or 7 different jobs. So most of the time if it's during the day it get piled up on the truck. I would eat up all day taking out and putting back up tools....

Thank you Frank and everyone else.

I took the pics a long time ago and probly after spending a day off washing and messing with the truck. I do like to keep everything rolled up nice and put away in the same spot so it doesn't become a tangled mess in there. Sometimes I'm lazy about wiping down the cords down while rolling up, but then I look at it and I'm not happy so next time they get wiped down. It does take alot of time and like Hammack said, if I have multiple jobs in the same day, stuff gets thrown about sometimes untill the end of the day.

I've added 150' more of leads and alot more ext cord to the drawer since then so it's getting kinda cramped in there now. Recently I added the XMT so some stuff had to be re-organized in the boxes to fit the new machine on the truck. I'm running out of room for more equipment. The XMT was great on that low-amp stainless job I posted about earlier, very happy with it.

Ken Dennis, my tool box drawers at home probly look like your dad's. My dad was the same way. "Use a tool, wipe it off and put it away the way you found it, son." I listened and try to keep everything organized so I can find exactly what I want without hunting for it.

Dedmetal, I haven't resolved the air compressor tank issue yet. I have not been able to find 200 psi tank(s) in a good size for my needs. I am debating about going to a smaller single stage 125 psi compressor, maybe one of those twin hot dog ones but I am reluctant to give up the one I have cause it pumps SOOO MUCH air in such a short time and works so great with the plasma that I feel I would be disappointed going down to a smaller unit. Decisions, decisions....

    Gizzard:
Was your truck??...Still got the SA 200 I see. My SA 200 is red too....Wonder if they are twins?

I was looking at an older ford like that with 4wd and 6.9 liter diesel to work out of. Glad to know the welder will fit.

Gizzard Guts, I like those cord roll-up holders on the left side of your truck, very convenient. Of course I always like old Fords too...
