Didn't we talk about this awhile ago?
Anyways, I'd still go with steel toed Double H's, but I did get a pair of Twisted X's last week. Kinda "nice". CW, think you told me that the Ariats are better, and I have to agree now.

Re: what are your prefered work boots?

I been using caterpillar steel toe boots, and they are comfortable, but only last about a year or so.. I'm in the market for a new pair of boots now, would like to see what people are wearing.

I would like a very comfortable pair of steel toe boots, black in color, price, let's try to stay below 500.

    Suggestions?

RedWing Loggers, I like a 10" boot, I am pissed I cant get it WITHOUT a steel toe anymore. I usually get 3 plus years out of a pair.

Are we talking just welding here?

The slag and sparks from plasma cutting and mig welding burns through the leather over the steel toes of my Timberland pros.

We get an annual boot voucher at work, so we don't need boots that wear for ever. My get kind of gross after 2500-3000 hours of wear anyhow. Most guys, including me, wear Timberland Pros. They are light and very comfortable right out of the box and fall under out voucher $ limits.

Whites has a drawing to win a free pair of boots valued at no more than $450. My favorite are the farmer/rancher because mud doesnt stick to the soles but the smoke jumpers seem to be most popular. The last pair I bought where about $325. There about $400 now. Im currently using Wolverines because their under $100 a pair.

You gotta be kidding. Lace-ups are horrific spark-catchers. I can't imagine welding with lace-ups.

But with all the Tigging I did last night, my arm and neck burns. As for laces, get leather. Also Squirmy, the link in my previous post is for a drawing for free boots with leather laces. There probably not popular in Florida but , they will send you a catalog and enter you into the drawing for free $450 boots.

Re: what are your preferred work boots?

Unfortunately, I've never worn a comfotable work boot. My military boots sucked the most.

I can stand comfortable all day barefoot - every work boot pushes on my arch like standing on a 3/8" rod. I just deal with it best I can.

Anyone have any ideas? While walking this does not happen, just standing.

Online entries must be completed no later than March 31,2013. Thanks for the link but it looks like it is too late I know about Whites, some of my family have worn them. I have trouble with my ankles (Injury/Surgerys) so I need to check boots out before I buy them, RedWing stores are easy to find

MinnesotaDave, sounds like you need to have shoe inserts custom made. Or go to the store and have your feet scanned to see what off the shelf inserts could help. RedWing has some that you heat in the oven then put in the boot and let it mold to your foot hot. Its what I have but I didn't mold them.
