playing around with .045 wire around the dome part is 16 gauge, trying to put down a small weld here. Had another run that looks better then this one

What program are you running on that? Pulse or CV? The plate bead looks cold but hot at the same time, like it was done on pulse without enough wirespeed.

Thanks, yes it is a Buck knife. Have two of them both Buck 119's, one for in town and one for working around the property. One is custom the other is average everyday you can buy anywhere and they both fit in the same custom made sheath.

To the Millwright, that is a real repair. A while back had some cast bracket/fitting did similar type of thing. That looks like a proper shop.

I like to think I’m perfectly centered but I know it’s not the case as I definitely wobble and have balance issues. In your case it might be sunstroke from fishing.

Oh I definitely wobble lol. Boat scared me the other day. Did this new overheat thing where it actually was over heating. Normally I get an alarm and I can shut it down and right back on and get back on plane and all is good. This last time I had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes to let it cool down before I could start it up and head back to the launch. My fishing trips might be coming to an end soon :/

2g 1/2” plate i think. Had me 45 degree bevel 1 side with a grinder and fit up myself. They were happy with it. Used 1/16 wire and took a weld test her about a year ago but hours didn’t work. Haven’t welded this this big wire or took a test like this since. Fun stuff and I would have cleaned it better but the cwi was saying that’s good enough when I tried to start cleaning it, didn’t wanna piss him off so I put the tools down

Not sure. The starts did look really nice to me with the .045 wire. Looked dirty while welding but came out nice looking. Ran a spray mode at first which sounded and looked cool. Way cleaner looking while making the weld them shirt circuit

It's all about the Chi. One must center their shakras. Making your shop more Fung Shui helps a lot.

No way to get the trunnion ring off without cutting the top off the barrel. If there was I would have just put it in the lathe.

Right. It's good enough now. But I think it would've been quicker in the lathe. Had to stop and sharpen and reset the teeth on the hole saw

Man........that's some nasty distortion/warpage on that diamond plate. I'd hate to have to work with that stuff if it's as thin as it looks. I believe the thinnest stuff I've ever used is 1/8" mild steel stuff.

Thickness doesn't seem to make any difference for that stuff. Once you hot dip it it's all over the place. Must be stressed up when forming.
