nothing fancy. just making frames for experimental doors.
Experimental doors? Does it open? Does it close? WoW! We have an invention! Ya think you can get a patent for a door?
Nice fit-up. Where's the weld?

didn't want to spoil the pic with crummy welding lol. not really in invention mondo more like an innovation. we've had a few suicides here lately and were building a electrically controlled steel framed cell door with lexan making up the majority of the surface area to give more visibility to what's going on inside. if you're interested pics are here under "lexan cell door" also welding lugs on and bolting all 4000 beds to the concrete floor. mucho ot. who says crime don't pay??
Some pictures of us fitting up an equipment elevator for a mine. In the for ground of the first picture is a three man elevator for the same mine as the larger elevator in the back ground. In these pictures it is far from completed.
i build dozens of gates a year and those corner clamps are indeed the time saving bomb!!!
I just built a few gates and couldve used those! had to bring my wife out to stand on one side so i could kick it square maybe she will let me get some now
Must have been welded by a robot....
Nice looking parts you got there.

lol nope. manually done on a rotator with a variable speed foot pedal.
Some of those aren't even that great.. There's some better examples on my website www.UtahWeld.com
These welds are on the Pfadt Racing corvette headers (google it) in case you're wondering.
am working this new project, a 4 feet tall Archangel sculpture..finished half of the body, the sword and the arms....tomorrow will start the upper armour.)

Mike,
How do you get the dimes sooooooooo perfect? Are you using pulse? Are those autogenous only?
Your welds are so pretty that I use them as the background on my office desktop computer. I pretty much stare at your welds daily.

Tillman tig gloves are pure garbage, I won't waste my money on them anymore. The miller tig gloves are so much better it's not even funny.
Apparently the folks at Tillman don't understand how a human hand is shaped, the stupid palm sewn seam will tear open on every single pair you'll ever use because it pulls tight when you open your hand. The millers don't pull tight because I'm assuming Millers glove designers have hands unlike Tillmans designers.
Most people don't try millers cuz they cost a few bucks more a pair, but they last 3 or more times longer.
I finally got around to making a proper "third hand". The rod was 3/16 inch scrap from a file cabinet. The weight is a 5 inch section of 4140 that I was using to practice drilling a long straight narrow hole in a hard steel. The hole was long and straight and centered, but came out .002 bigger than planned.
I tigged it using somewhat less than 140 amps and 1/8 inch 70s rod. The bends were done using my small arbor press with a makeshift die as a press brake.
By sliding the weight away from the tip, I get as little as 2.1 oz of pressure. Slide it all the way to the tip and I get 4.6 oz.

Measure twice. Weld once. Grind to size.
How did you get the color you made these are they titanium?
Those are 304 stainless headers. The colors are just a byproduct/indication of having everything dialed in perfectly for the process and its implementation and the work being welded.
Those pictures aren't even very good examples either.... there's some better ones here http://s1123.photobucket.com/user/cu...view=slideshow
