I'm putting together a bicycle trailer using old steel bicycle frames. The frames I have vary in steel composition... one is 4130 tubing, the rest are unknown. One of the unknown's is very thin tubing and I believe it's higher grade steel than the 4130. The others seem more clunky/heavier than the 4130 so I believe they are lower-grade steel than the 4130.
I'd like to take bits and pieces from these frames as needed, so basically the project may have mixed tubing.
Is there a general stick rod I can use that will work fine welding these different tubes together?
I'm aware of stick not being recommended for thin material, but I don't really care =). I have a Lincoln Electric AC 225 arc welder, which goes down to 40 amps (@ 25v).
