    Re: Welding Music?

Nobody else seems to have asked this but, "What process do you use to weld music"? Do you use MIG, TIG, Stick or some exotic process using China or Harbor Freight inverters. I also wonder how hard it would be to keep the welding between the lines like we were taught in coloring classes in Kindergarten. This is what I though of when I first saw the title of this blog

Music? I spend most of the time with a hood on trying to instruct someone else what they are suppose to be doing while I am welding besides standing there.

My son had some droning beat music from a computer game he would listen to when doing TIG buildups on turbine blades. Picked something that had the same beat as his dipping the filler.

I would rather listen to Two Cylinder Kohler than to have to put up with that crap all day(or even part of the day). If you catch'em out of the shop for a little while, go over to the offending racket maker and wrap it up with a welding lead, turn the welder up close to max amps on DC and strike an arc on a piece of steel. Undo everything before they return. The EMP in the lead should fry the CB in the racket maker. This way there will be no obvious physical damage to the unit, only it won't make any more of that noise no more. I think it works best if it is powered up when you do this.

I would but they all are a bunch of babies and would get all the radios taking away just like last time.
No the thing that really pisses me off is when they **** with my radio. Mainly taking it from my booth and not bringing it back.

I'm 100% country, bluegrass and worship. But, when working it's; Jawga Boyz, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Korn, CCR, etc etc. All my guys at the shop HATE it when I play Jawga Boyz over the PA system, but love the other.

I've been on a pretty serious Eminem binge for the last few months. I'm not a huge rap fan I just like Em. Favorite album to listen to while welding is "Encore." But other than that I listen to Death metal like NILE, Carnifex, Cannibal Corpse, After the Burial, Necrophagist. Along with other various genres of metal.

I'm all over the map with all kinds of music. Here's some of my all time favorites when welding:

Greatest 5-finger guitar pickers all time:

-Chet Atkins & Jerry Reed (aka: "The Claw")

Great heavy metal rifts and powerful workout or welding music:

Pantera (Music that makes you workout harder)
Dope (Music that makes you want to F@&$ someone up).
Texas Hippie Coalition (Music that makes you want to go out and break something).

    Great old school country:

    -Waylon and Johnny
