Might have a AHP TIG if it arrives in time. Will be bringing the SP250 for some help with my spoolgun settings and technique. If anyone wants to check out the 9" steelmax saw, I can bring that. else I'll leave it at home. Oh I still need to sell the GoWelds. Well bring if anyone interested.

    Re: So.Cal. Weld-O-Rama

Well an Everlast 185AC/DC tig showed up today, I offered quite a while back to bring a welder to weld-o-rama if Olag sent me one. This is a demo machine that will be shipped or hand delivered back to him as I now visit the Bay area about once a month. Being that we have seen a few Longevity machines at these events in the past, What the hey. New machines are always fun to try out. All I had time to do tonite was plug it in and make sure it powered up... My Lincoln is loaded also so some spoolgun and mig fun. spray too if anyone has the right gas mix they want to try...

Now I just need ESAB to send me a 281i TIG for a demo..

    Danny--thanks for posting that.

Here are some stills I took today. In the first photo are Wed-O-Rama's oldest and youngest guests. The third photo shows some of Terry's beautiful welding--1" aluminum on a Dynasty 280 DX.

it was nice meeting people. Couldn't stay as long as I wanted as I had to work that day. I was the guy with is wife there but didn't get a chance to talk to everyone. Here are the only 2 pics I took. Got to see how to chop the roof off a motorhome. Some cool TIG welding going on. How did the bumper on the tundra come out?

    Re: So.Cal. Weld-O-Rama

    Fun day guys!

It was a pleasure showing off the 280DX and burning up some 4943. I could really tell the how clean the weld flows with Wes's ultra high purity helium and welding DC straight on alum with the 4943 filler(don't say it can't be done with 4943 because we did it). That little difference between that and weld grade makes a huge difference. The point of the demonstration was to point out that 1" thick coupons can be fillet welded on 120 amps output.

DJ's(SouthPaw) alum spoolgun was coming into it's element when I had to depart, so I hope he and Wes got it dialed in nice. His .035 diameter 5356 was burning nice.

The little import tig did not blow up so that was a pleasant surprise. Even though it could not weld DC straight/helium on alum it did eventually fire up when argon was added. So no DC straight on that puppy. Wes felt that the foot control was choppy, but I did not notice because I had it floored the whole time. It only exceeded duty cycle once in the beginning and refused to do so beyond that so that was nice.

Did not get to see the fireworks show, maybe next time. Got to say I was nodding off on the way home due to copious amounts of MGD and pizza.

Much thanks to all that showed up, and especially for Wes for hosting this event.
