Alright, that was kinda cool. neat to see so many ways to transfer motion/energy to another object

    Good one

Some of those were pretty unusual arrangements - I like that kind of stuff, thanks for posting it

Thanks Manokai. Enjoyed watching. So many ways to get from rotary to linear. How clever people can be to get machines to do what they want. Thanks for posting...

Access the "Foam Beams" set atop, for a visual on the effect of stress/strain/deflection to beams amidst tension, compression, bending, and torsion. Think HAZ. Ciao!

we learned all those movements in NCR (National Cash Register) Tech school. Then again in an Engineering Theory class.

Back in the day, that required a four jaw chuck and the patients of God to make a crank. I have turned small simple cranks, you can really appreciate that machine after turning one yourself.

Materials in motion, NASA version. Listen to the SRB metals/composites "crying" from the swing in temperarure and stress after the NSDs initiate booster to Orbiter/ET separation. Then, splashdown.

Impressive. I suppose your limited by mandrel length but otherwise amazing process. +1 on the HL2 reference.

I used to have several books full of interesting mechanical devices before the internet. They were mesmorizing trying to figure some of the contraptions worked. Thanks for posting.

    Re: Mechanical Devices: Kinematics Visualized

No matter how cool the other CNC and newest wiz bang computer controlled electro-mechanical systems we come up with are...nothing beats that 1930's video. Just realize it was all figured out by people with slide rules and manufactured on manual machines. Can you imagine what they could do these days!
