I cant take any credit for the idea, I was browsing through some old posts and saw this... first thought was a christmas present. I changed the design around a little and am giving it to my mom for Christmas. Went to find the post before I posted my pics to say thanks, cant find the post or I'm looking over it. Anyhow, whoever you are thanks for the idea and I hope you like what I did to mine!

Looks good. I copied the same design. Thanks to whoever did actually post the original pictures of this thing. Here's a picture of my interpretation of it, I ended up making half a dozen of them for Christmas presents last year.

Very nice clean and functional design for storage of single bottle. Would be interesting to see that done in a multi bottle design.

Say Larry was that done using copper or given a copper finish?

Yep, you are right about that. If you notice the wine bottle in my rack actually has a screw on cap.............:laugh:

And yes again that is Rustoleum hammered copper paint.

The fancy wines should be 'decanted'. How Foo-foo is that?

Add a screw to the bottom-end of the holder to raise that end ever-so-slightly, just enough for the wine to pour slowly into the glass. The theory is that any dregs will remain in the bottle when the wine is taken slowly from the top.

Or,, just use the boxed-wine straight from the fridge like I do.

That chain bottle holder is super-cool!!!
Are the few hanging links loose or did you weld them also.

I'm new at welding design. Did you make a jig for this or do it freehand? Start from the base or the neck?

Looks like I need to dig out some leftover chain, and empty a few 'test' bottles...

yes, the few links hanging are not welded, so they hang naturally.

when i did this i made a little jig, but nothing welded, just a piece of pipe clamped with a
vise grip simulating the bottle´s neck, and another bigger piece for the circular shape of the base.

then i put the chain, arround the "supposed bottle neck" then arround the base, and clamp it in some places with more vice grips, and then when everyting was hangin, i start welding the links together.

i dont have pics of the "jig" but i will make some more bottle holders and i will take some pics.
