Isn't that called a Red Neck, Goose Neck hitch? What trailer weight rating is it good for? Ought to be good for at least 12,000 Lbs.

I saw this one on the way home last night. I didn't want to stay behind it to get a better picture.

I should mention the gate was in the trailer because it broke off and took the rear cross member of the trailer with it. Those boards were waving at people, and the side were flexing all over the place on every bump. The lights weren't working either, but that is pretty common around here.

Michigan, I would say about half the trailers I see don't have working lights. I think there is something about if you can see the tow vehicle lights you don't need them or something like that. My trailers get checked out before every trip and don't leave unless all lights are working.

    Re: Trailer fail pics

    Thats too bad.
I would say most of the new trailers have working lights. Most of the old ones dont.
Problem is most of the trailers around here are real odd.

Most trailer light problems are caused by bad ground, where they connect the wire to the frame. I think that is idiotic unless you can some how avoid ever coming in contact with liquid water.
Its not really not that hard to put all the lights on a ground wire and use all weather proof connectors.
If you do that you wont have a light problem till a bulb burns out or you let some one barrow your trailer and they break a light or 2 off.

I replaced the lights with LEDs on my trailer and put everything on a ground wire with sealed connectors in 2008 and I may have replaced a flat 4 connector since then.

Nifty idea. I should add one of those to my 1992 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton pickups hood. No really I should as a hood ornament.

Course I wouldn't actually use it to move a trailer.

Maybe this isn't a total fail, but a buddy picked this up at auction for $100 and wanted me to fix it. It's getting scrapped. From the best we can tell it got rear ended. Still rolls though. Probably salvage the axle.
