My welding cart is small and the gas fitting on the back of the welder is uncomfortably crammed against the tank. Can I install a 90 degree fitting on the back of the welder to reroute the hose without messing up anything?

My Lincoln 175 was like that too, but it worked. Yes, you can put a different fitting on there. If there are pipe threads for the fitting, I suggest using some liquid teflon (PTFE). A pic would help.

Fitting may be a flare type fitting vs a NPT pipe thread. Should be easy to tell since you have the hose that attaches to it. Flare fittings though are a bit harder to locate though. You may find something at your welding supply. Hydraulics shops also have a selection of flare types and sizes.

I bought one of these, but I think i'm going to convert my welders to all quick connect fittings for gas and torch connections.
