I've built some furniture, but mostly it's tractor, equipment, and trailer parts. Also, do architectural brackets. Anything the CNC table can spit out!

All I can say anyone complaining about the price of the manufactured tables with the holes, is I bet they have never welded a project with them
The way the clamp and set up jigs ( THAT MAKE PERFECT COPIES ) is a time saver. Once they use on I bet no one would complain about price.

Time is just as valuable as money - sometimes more.

Got a chance to pick this up for $300. It has a 1/2" steel top and the stainless sheetmetal is just sitting there, it comes off. It has some holes from some sort of machine mounting. It measures 61"x48" with levelers on the feet. I didnt get a height measurement yet but probably 36-40".

Took some time to build the drawers but with some great ideas from several web sites...this thing is going to serve me well.

Under my welding table is about the dirtiest place in my shop before the frequent cleaning. I can imaging storing anything under my welding table.

    Re: Welding table picture thread

If you look closely at this photo you will see my solution to prevent crap from dropping onto the shelf area below. I put a piece of 10 gauge under the top...it can slide it out to clean off debris...I also have put receiver hitches at several heights and locations to be able to install my vice and extension arm.

The top is 28 x 52 basically 1/2" hot rolled 8" bar stock. I welded each piece to type 8 9/16" 4"bolts. I made one extra plate to swap out if I screw one up.

I will post some more pics...

I don't plan on drilling the table...I am fully stocked with clamps!

Careful Burpee with the sharp edges of the expanded metal top. Also I hope you used appropriate PPE. Safety First!

4'1"x8'3" 1/2" thick plate height is 41.25" so I'm nearly standing straight up all the time. I have a hard time gettin my back straight after being hunched over for more then a few minutes so I made it high. I new to build a stool and a rack for storage underneath my only constraint at this point is money.

    Re: Welding table picture thread

Here is what I am working in my fabrication class... The top will be 44" x68". The frame is all 3/16ths 2x3 tube, and will ride on 800 lb casters. We happen to have a five axis plasma table, so one half will be slotted like a miller x-clamp table, and the other half cut for stronhand fixturing clamps. I know it's know extreme precision, but enough I can do some serious and repeatable work on it.

    Top half frame

    Lower half of frame

Still have to finish the frame up next week.

    Welding table picture thread

I will take some more pictures as progress goes along. I am in my second semester of welding/fabrication after 17 years in the military as a firefighter. I have my aws certs for SMAW and FCAW, but this is the first thing I have actually "built". The frame should outlast my grandchildren. I pick up the top on Monday, and will get it in the plasma table some time next week. I set the frame in for the bottom shelf so I could sit under the table and TIG.

So.... lets have a welding table pic thread! No step by step builds necessary, just show off the final product you have come up with. If you have a build thread somewhere on the forum, post up a link with your pic.

    Lets see whats out there...
You've likely already seen this, but for those who may not, here are some links. Others helped me, always happy to do the same.

Here is a link to the thread highlighting the table I built in 2012.

Here is a link to the YouTube channel with three videos highlighting the same build.
