I do wish the Dynastys were equipped with a lifting eye for a bike lock.

So sorry to hear of your misfortune.

Check out your buddy's other friends or any acquaintances/strangers he had over recently.

As a kid, I had a "friend" steal my tools once out of my grandfather's barn. The investigating detective asked me if anyone had been in the barn with me recently and a few hours later I had my tools back.

Check the local pawn shops too.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Big transformer machine, good luck carrying that ****er off. I really liked the Dynasty because it was more mobile in case I had a job elsewhere though.

Lesson learned I guess. Don't just lock up your ****, REALLY lock up your ****. They used bolt cutters and stuff to get at my tools. Simple padlocks are only going to keep honest people honest.

Get a big transformer for home, buy a budget machine like the AHP, Everlast etc for the mobile jobs. Then if it's stolen you are not out that much money. You can get both machines for about 1/3 of the cost of replacing the dynasty setup.

I've checked all the pawnshops around here and even offered them $500 on top of whatever they had paid for the welder and more if they could ID the perp. They are all pretty shady and the cops said they would probably just take the welder to a different city and sell it without filling out a pawn ticket.

This is the only Syncrowave I can find around here on Craigslist:

Seems a little high on the price...

Seems like a good deal? Hell, that's close to what I paid just for my 200DX package a year ago...

If you are upgrading why not get a Miller 210 Dynasty DX? The 200 is on its way out.

Well that package is on clearance and way cheaper than the 210. What changes have they made on the 210?

I'm probably just going to try and find a big used Syncrowave with a cooler...

Besides the 10 extra amps the duty cycle is a lot better.

What do you guys think about the Everlast TIG welders? I'm not sure if I could go backwards to a Chinese machine after the Miller, but it's got a good price on it...
