I don't know much about plasma cutters, other then the fact I'm in the market for one....and I see a L-Tec is up for auction starting at $500. It is a an older unit, 20 years old, but works from a city. But....are parts available for it...ie, the consumables (tips, so forth).

Well, a search on L-Tec came up that some items are no longer available...as in another thread about L-Tec. It's gotten me worried about this one I"m looking at.

Also, what are the specs for it? What is the cutting capacity? 1/2"? 3/4"? I'd like to be able to cut 1/2" easy, w/ being able to cut 3/4" a few times. I won't use the cutter everyday, like a manufacturing, but for projects here and there.

Thanks ahead of time. (Just a farmer trying to get more modern equipment....aka using oxy/acl cutting tourch now....and I priced a 'new' plasma cutter....near $2K ).

Believe this manual should help, as it states it is suitable for your machine in question.
Call ESAB with the part numbers and they will check the availability for you
PCM-625i.
The manual has a table of cutting thicknesses, pay attention to the speeds. To cut the thicknesses you want comfortably, you will need to spend some more money

Thank you. That manual is what I was looking for- had the info I wanted. I doubt I'll ever use a bigger machine enough to get my money's worth. As of now, my Oxy/Acyl set up lasts me a few years. I just under 1/2" most of the time, using a cut off saw, hack saw (mechanical) or the torch. Any plasma cutter in my book would be an improvement. I'm on a budget since I have some projects I need a plasma cutter on.....a few people who may have looked over my threads know I just got a few mig welders too (all I have is gas welding and stick....and stainless sheet is hard to weld w/ stick...well, unless you do it day in/day out).

Thank you. I'll do some research on if the consumable parts are available and how much. Gonna have to find a few sites to see...
