After too long of a time with my PanCake/Welding hood and hard hat sliding around in my truck, where it always ends up where I can't easily reach it, I made me a simple little rack.
I took four 309 Stainless TIG rods, fixed two of them in a drill and twisted them together. After that came some TIG Wire Origami, to create the proper shapes to hold the items securely, yet releasing the pancake without fighting me.
(Translation = bent the wire up to work:laugh
I fastened them to the head rest, and hopefully this will solve my dilemma.
