Any suggestions on what electrode to use for hardfacing excavator buckets with a DC stick machine?

X 2. It makes nice thick beads once you find the sweet spot for amps

I have used 140 & 155. I liked them both, but its been about six years since I have touched them. I use mostly McKay rods, they are not as available and cost a little more, but I like them.

i have been using Hardmelt 600, mainly cause that is all that is available over here and it takes 90 days to get anything shipped in. It's not perfect but works OK.

I've met with success using InWeld HF961 for metal abrasion resistance on steel conveyor lines.
