He needs the hard hat that has the slots in it. If he doesn't have that then he needs the hat band that slides over the hat and clips to the brim and attaches to the hood.

This is not safe, and can get you run off of some jobs. Hard hats have all those attachment points inside them for a reason.

 

I mounted a Tiger Hood to an MSA V Guard, with slots, and it's way too high. I too, would like to find the perfect solution.

 

Of couse it's not safe and after 23 years I'm still waiting to get my money over it. A hard hat hood is a joke. I've had more neck pain from using a real one and have never been hit in the head while welding so I've had no need for one.
If I'm welding somewhere I think I need one, I tell the foreman fix the situation.

After a life time of wearing hard hat hoods, my neck just kills me pretty much 24/7!:realmad: I always hated those things!

The fibre metal quick locks work with any welding shield.

 

I see fibre metal also makes quick lock blades that work with the slotted hard hats.
I use a fibre metal hard hat exclusively and it comes with the blocks on it.

 

I've seen buddies with the souvenir batting helmets instead of hard hats.
