So me and a friend of mine got a idea for a nice back purge plug set up.Were both welders and he also runs a CnC machine,we were both sick of the old methods for back purging tape, tinfoil etc.We wanted to come up with something simple, nice, and reusable.Once we made a set and tried them out with good results some other local welders we knew wanted sets also.So we started making them on a small basis. There made of 6061 Aluminum this set fits 1.25 and 1.50 Sch10 and sch40.It also fits various tubing sizes.Sometimes after being used they were getting stuck and were a real pain to get out,so we made up this wrench that pretty much works like a bottle opener to unwedge it.We also recently came up with a little tray to hold them so there not rolling around and getting lost. What do you guys think?

That's cool but I can't imagine it being cheap. Kind of hard to beat the price of foil
And why is there no bleed hole? I only see the hole to fees the argon in, nothing to let the air escape

Everyone has been very happy with the price so far $50.00 for the kit, holding tray, and wrench. As far as having a vent hole we felt that that would cause it to leak to much, with the sch pipe not being perfectly round it vents fine :)

So how do these lock in? I like it. I would like to see a threaded hole in all inserts and use a plug for the opposite end that I could crack to vent.

Kudos to you for coming up with something new. Just today I ran out of foil and had to monkey rig a plug.

Thanks a bunch,I just couldn't deal with tinfoil anymore and after we made these I thought it would be a shame to not offer them to other welder who shared my frustration.

Its what I guess you could call a interference fit, with the taper you just give it a couple of good smacks with the palm of your hand and its in and if its stubborn to come out when your done welding the wrench is included to help you out.The kit comes by default with one tapped plug and four solid but if requested all five could be tapped or all 5 could be solid its ultimately up to the purchaser.

Very sweet idea tinfoil does suck, I use a plastic pipe cap wrapped in tinfoil on manifolds. How can we purchase a set of plugs?

I'm all for a vent hole. Just because it's a cool product and very good price I'm buying one for when I decide I need it. If you can put a small vent hole in mine that would be great. Like a 1/16th diameter would be more than enough

Maybe put a shreader valve for venting?

OK we have made a smell revision all purge plugs are going to be drilled and tapped:).We will be providing NPT plugs for the tapped holes,as to how you want them to vent will ultimately be your decision. You can crack the plug a little or you can drill a small hole in the NPT plug whichever you feel will fit your needs better .

Cool as long as mine has the revision I hope

So when are these shipping?

Adam Brand OK everyone here is an update I apologize for it taking so long but we have been balls deep in a s2k build that all came together last minute.I have been trying to keep up with Emails and messages but if I missed anyone I apologize again.I spoke with Speng Mon the 21st so a little over a week ago the status was that they were completed and going to be shipped the next day. That would have made the shipping date Tues the 22nd.I made several attempts to contact and verify that they indeed were shipped out with no problems, but unfortunately have not been able to do so.If there is any questions about your order please contact me so I can keep track and make sure everyone's orders have been filled

Spoke to Adam on the phone about this whole ordeal, he feels horrible, understands and takes full responsibility for the problems that have arised. Anyone that ordered a kit and payed via paypal open a dispute case and get a refund for your money.

To cliff this whole event, machine shop and him had a deal, machine shop received payment and make product, machine shop is ran by a crook and a rip off(this was found out recently)
