More info would help. Type of work, material thickness, inside shop work, outside etc. ? Location would help too. Some areas have higher prices then others.
Looking for a used or new Miller 220 mig welder under $800.
Any suggestions on specific models would be greatly appreciated.
I will be working out of my garage with this.

Just working out of my garage.
I will be welding on a car frame and car body.
Of course other odd and end stuff too.
Basic every day around the house type stuff
Posting your location in your profile would be helpful. There is (or was?) a clean Miller 210 in Oregon for $700.

I just need to know what welders to look for.
I can begin the search after that. I am willing to drive up to 100 miles so I shouldn't have too much problem locating one.
I just don't know what would be the best to get.
Find a MM200, they usually sell for that price, and are generally bullet resistant.
In a used unit, stay away from the Millermatic 175. I am not real fond of the Millermatic 250 either. My Millermatic 210 mentioned above would be a solid choice. A Millermatic 185 is a good unit too. The old MM 200 is getting up there in age, so there is a good chance if you go with one of them you'll be wanting to replace the filter caps.
I prefer Hobart's Handler 187 or 190 over the Millermatic 180, but the 180 is still a good unit.
I'll point out that the MM 180 is a compact light duty unit, where as the MM 185 is a floor model light industrial unit. The MM 185 is also actually misnamed because it is really a 200 amp unit.
ESAB Migmaster 250
Hobart Ironman 230
Multimatic 215
TWECO Fabricator 181i & 211i
HH125EZ - nice little fluxcore only unit
Maxstar 150 STH - very nice
After researching more on this forum and not finding anything used around town I have decided to increase my limit and go with a MM211.
I have read nothing but good things about them.
