Hahahahabahaha terry at first I thought you were joking. Man he has his own tig Welder... That means it must be good right? After all he is a master of the tigging art.

Miller, Lincoln and all the other real welding companies better watch out now.

To the OP, spend the extra $15 on tungsten and support Clinton Welding. Those are the guys that swapped that tank out for you for free, right?

They're only gonna help you out so much before they won't anymore. If you're not willing to help and support them, they'll figure it out.

I always forget ur out here by me.

I'm actually on my way there now. They're a really solid bunch of guys never haven't taken care of me and I'm not a big customer for them by any means.

As far as the Mr. tig thing goes, I guess he isn't a member of this forum? I've watched his videos and they are helpful but I would much rather watch someone like Jody Collier.

It annoys me he can't just say his name and claims to be the go to world renowned expert on tig welding and plays dumb like he doesn't know how to use a mig welder only tig. Come on.

He was a member, and was spewing misinformation so that he could promote his webstore. After numerous troll postings he was banned for spamming.

Then he came back under another name and was promoting his affiliate, so again he was banned. He could have just paid to become a sponsor and spewed misinformation legitimately in his own forum, with censorship rights.

But, why would anyone want to pay to lie when he gets paid to do it now? Lol that "Mr. Tig" version is heinous. I think Kevon Carron's review is what sold me on my Alpha.

Same. I talked to Kevin briefly on this forum seems like a genuinely nice guy with good advice. (Hi Kevin thanks again)

Anyway I went to LWS and they only had 1.5% lanth in stock, I paid 35 for 10. Should I wait until they get 2% and exchange it or will I not notice the difference before I destroy all of them as a guy who never even laid eyes on a tig machine?

Kevin is a nice guy. I would buy an AHP from him, as he uses it regularly and knows the ins and outs of keeping it running.

As a seller he can will give you a discount. http://www.kevincaron.com/newsletter.php?id=69

I have tried the 1.5 lanthanated, and it spits like 2% thoriated. The 2% lanth holds together long enough to eventually ball up nicely, as long as you don't dip. Real TriMix is oh-so nice, but expensive.

Personally I'd buy via Amazon as they will stand behind the customer if any initial issues or problems. Amazon does not expect the customer to disassemble a new machine, diagnose faulty equipment with a multimeter and remove or solder in replacement parts. This goes for anything sold by Amazon.

I have never heard of anyone from AHP tell someone to open up a machine or replace any parts

Also anyone that lives close that wants to try one out call me and come to the shop.

And Kevin Caron knows them pretty well. I am sure he could sort out problems. His tutorial goes into depth on some of these problems. http://www.kevincaron.com/video_detail.php?id=295

Since when is opening up a welder and hoping "I got a good one" ok? You should have the confidence in the welder that every time you need the machine it will perform.

Save your $$ ppl and buy a real good Welder that needs no finger crossing, praying or hoping and dreaming that it will not go up in smoke

Not all of us can afford to drop $1500-3000 on a nice American made machine. Trust me I wish I had a nice new dynasty sitting in my garage but what on earth does a guy like me welding as a hobby or even a guy with a small shop that has to weld the occasional part every so often need such a machine for?

I have a hobart 210mvp and I love it and it sees a lot of use for a guy like me. I bought it new and everything about it is great but unfortunately their tig machine is too much for me.

If you want to buy a welder made in the USA it will have to be a older one, because the Miller Dynasty is made in China. Also there are no HF points to ajust in the more expensive welders.

I hope this is incorrect, for all of our sakes.

However, I agree that anything can be made anywhere and be just as good as the next. The problem is when we expect things at the lowest possible price and a factory just pushes it out the door with no real investment in customer service or quality control. This is what China has been notorious for in the past.

I don't mind paying extra for American made products. I do expect better quality when doing so.

Welding as a hobby or not does not mean a person has to buy a cheap welder dude I weld as a hobby just like you. My tig machine is a syncrowave 350lx that was purchased off of clist for a smoking deal.

About 95% of ppl do not need a dynasty, there's tons of good welders on clist for amazing prices. Sometimes I think we get caught up in needing the lasted and greatest.

There is plenty of good welders on clist for great prices, just be patient and save your $$

You bring up a good point. You bought a professional grade welder and can probably sell it at a profit. Not so with the hobby type stuff. I don't think resale value or ROI is something the hobbiest cares about.

Unless you have some inside info, I think you are dreaming. As of today you can still request a certificate of origin from Miller Electric, and it will state USA. Yes, some parts are sourced from china, hopefully not made in forced labor camps.

Terry, I wish you lived closer to me, I would send you a AHP to try out. Beleave me its no Dynasty but welds really good. I just bought a Dynasty 200dx a few months ago and it said on the back tag MADE IN CHINA so I sold it. Not saing it was bad but I didn't need a $4000 tig made in China when I can buy a cheaper one.

If I can find the picture I took of the tag I will post it.

So wait a second... You had a dynasty then sold it because the origin tag said made in China then purchased a Ahp? I find this hard to believe...

Please send terry an ahp Welder to use and give us a real world review.. What happens when it breaks?

Maybe a harbor freight multimerter should be standard equipment with cheap chines welders, except the idiot guide will probably be jibberish. "Connect part c wire dark to female orafice in side opposite of clock when yes.". "Great danger to life when energy is abundant, restrain great caution to life." "If question of life call 1-800-NO-GOOD" for answer to more question".
