    Trailer Dolly

Here's another trailer dollly. I saw this design on-line and decided to make my own. I put a small angle in the handle thinking that it would add a little clearance to my walk, but it turns out that I really didn't need to do that. I'm 6'4" and I love the long handle, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to make my own. This thing is SWEET! . I built this for less than $20. the most expensive part was the ball. I built a utility trailer and then decided to build this in order to move it around. I never tried using one before....I wasn't sure how well they work, but now I'll never be without one. I welded the nut on the stem so I can change the ball out, but the 1 7/8 ball works great on my 2 inch coupler for moving.

Those dollys are defiantly handy as pockets on a shirt. I had one and someone came along and decided that they needed it worse than I did. Not big on thieves around here! I suppose it's time to build another one! What size tube did you use? I used pneumatic tires on my last one because I figured it would roll better in the grass. Do the hard wheels do okay on lawn?

    Looks good! Nice simple design.

What distance did you go with from the center of the ball down to the ground with it at max height? Is the trailer pretty level when you move it around with the dolly? I guess measuring the ball height on your tow vehicle would be a good number to use if it tows with the trailer pretty level...

The dolly works good enough on the lawn.... Still better than lifting and moving by hand. If I were to make another one, I may put a longer axle on it, or longer grip. But this still is unbelievalbly easy to use

I bought this one on sale for $20 some years ago. Really helped out with moving the jet ski trailers around the yard. http://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-d...lly-37510.html

    Re: Trailer Dolly

Bolts were welded on...... With threads sticking out. Also, use a lock nut for keeping the wheels on. You can adjust for 'roll'
