I'm no expert as it's my 1st welder but I'm happy with mine. I got a cart, wire, full bottle, and regulator for $400.

just found out its 12 years old

 

They are good welders. I'd try to get it for $325. if it's in good shape.

If it's large enough to fill your needs, the price isn't bad. As far as being 12 yrs. old...depends upon how it was stored, if indeed it was hardly used.

 

High humidity and poor storage could be a major player. Rollers and liners aren't that expensive but still could be problematic as far as plug and play goes and they are an added cost.

I've seen several small migs that were 'hardly used' and setting out there on a saw horse where they last used it two years ago.

 

Got an older SP85, still works okay. 110ac

Had to adapt gun for tips, as no longer available.

Still works well.

I love my SP-170T. Bought it on Craigslist for $100 including a Lincoln cart. It was dirty, but worked great. I like it because it isn't any bigger than a 110V Lincoln.

 

i just bought a lincoln sp 170 at an auction, i paid 275 i need to learn how to use it, i am going to try to repair the bottom of my sailboat, metal,, and a little beat up mgb i just bought, needs more then a bit of work, so instead of hiring someone to do all the metal work,, thought i would buy this and figure it out myself
