Thanks a bunch. I don't use paypal often but it certainly seems to work well and is apparently fast.

Really appreciate it and they'll get good use.

Thanks, they certainly are a top notch vendor. I purchased a set of quick disconnects for the regulators to hose, (Radnor branded, hope their alright) and have ordered a 100' "Coxreels" brand spring rewind hose winder for my mobile trailer. I can't bring myself to purchase lesser quality so it was this or Reelcraft. I'm going to follow advice given on this site of "whip" hoses of short length with the quick disconnects for the hoses. I think I can live with the hoses permanently attached to the torch mixer handle. I shipped my son the two stage "Smith" regulators along with 3.5" thick foam 12"X12" squares to make housing boxes for to fit my toolboxes and not incur damage in transit. I don't leave the welder outdoors when not being used but will have a cover made for the hose reel to keep it both clean, and shielded from the sun's damage. Also planning to add an additional oxygen tank to the front of the trailer as there is room with slight modification to the tank mount. I currently have a Linde "K" series tank installed and have another of the same size along with a compatible sized acetylene cylinder.

You are welcome...was a pleasure doing business with ya! Glad they're going to a good home.

Paypal has been a pleasant surprise...no fee for the seller if the money's gifted (never a fee for the buyer) and it's immediately posted to my account. It takes a few days to xfr to my bank but it's free so...AND I can use it at certain retailers like Home Desperate!

    Thanks again!

In the mailbox today was the regulator to hose quick disconnects and they look alright to me. As soon as I receive the reel assembly I should be all set to get everything permanent mounted up.

Do you guys run flashback arrestors attached to your regulators, or to the torch mixer handle? I purchased a set of these, (Smith branded) and didn't ask where to mount them.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I run them at the torch, others run them at the regs. My theory is I want to stop the flashback ASAP before it reaches the hoses.

Your arrestor set should be male on one end and female at the other, and be for either the torch end or the regulator end, but not both. The check valve inside will allow flow in one direction only.

Re: FS: New Koike Quick Connects (two sets) $35/$65 shipped

Thanks a lot. Never really thought about it but a shop set of Smith "MC" series torches I've had for many years has a set of these mounted to it; been there since new in about 1992. My Smith "SC" series had never had a set so these were purchased. Now I'll need a hose crimper to build up some whips and should be good.

These disconnects are male and female "B" series gas fittings and look to be good quality. I'll post photos of them tomorrow.

Re: FS: New Koike Quick Connects (two sets) $35/$65 shipped

Just a couple of months ago I bought an oxy-fuel repair kit for the exact same reason. Built the short hoses from my regs to the reel, then used a factory 50' from the reel to a set of Koike connectors, then built a ~1' whip for the end of the torch. I kept the whip short to keep the connectors out of the dirt as much as I could. Hasn't hung on anything so far while I'm trying to use it, but there's a first time for everything....

I got to run across a rosebud for my Smith torch and a few carbide burrs myself. I like those Koike connectors as to disconnect you have to slide the sleeve forward instead of pulling it back. This will be great if dragging them on the ground as they won't be prone to disconnect.

Some nice stuff, and the critters were free!! (the two rats I already had )

It seems we both share a love of strange creepy crawly things. More critters for my zoo. I'll post a thread on that soon

Seriously, got some excellent carbide burrs, nice rosebuds some new gas lenses and a small Victor combo torch. Very reasonable on price and shipped fast.

    Thanks!!!
    HAHAHA You are CRAZY!!!

Run across a pretty good deal with my Praxair dealer tonight. They sold me this hose repair kit for less money than an import on ebay could be had for:

Re: FS: New Koike Quick Connects (two sets) $35/$65 shipped

I have a 15' section of dual "R" hose I allowed a 5th wheel plate cutout fall onto from a semi trailer punching a hole in the oxy line. I'm going to make a five foot whip for the regulator to reel connection, and a 10 foot whip for attachment from the reel hose to the mixer handle. One set of the quick connects from weldingpup will be for connecting the mixer whip hose to the reel hose, and the other set will be used for either further extension hoses, or another set in the shop. I installed the regulator to hose quick disconnects and they work very well so this should all come together shortly.

That spring loaded hose reel is pretty slick to use. It's easy to pull out, and you don't need to help the retractor at all as it has enough force to do the job without wanting to pull it away from you. Kinda expensive but you know good quality costs a fair amount.

    Thanks,
    Slob

Re: FS: New Koike Quick Connects (two sets) $35/$65 shipped

That's a nice cutting cart and I'm certain quite useful in it's intended purpose. I mounted my reel just in front of the tanks which are in front of the radiator of the machine. It spools the hose off the left side as my vise is right there handy for small parts. I too need to mount up a couple of extinguishers and have them already, just takes everything loosely mounted into place before final placement. I don't like doing something twice so tend to think though it a bit much to avoid rework.

What brand are those quick disconnects? I looked at Praxair's "Pro Star" brand, (by Western) and they look similar but are color coded.
