    Welcome aboard!

If you'll pardon my ignorance, could you explain what a "rocket mass heater" is?

I realize that rockets have mass. By why it needs to be heated, baffles me.

    Re: Rocket Mass Heater

A rocket mass heater is a wood heater that burns wood at a very high temperature because of the amount of oxygen that is drawn into it. It's aptly named a "rocket" mass heater because of the sound that it makes while it's burning. The mass part of the name comes from the idea of piping the exhaust through a thermal mass albeit brick, stone, adobe or various other materials that can act as a thermal mass. It is a very efficient heater because it burns so hot that, when built properly, it combusts even the smoke, leaving only steam and co2 as an exhaust has.

    Welcome Aboard

I have read some things on the internet, but the only time I tried was a miserable failure.
I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap. You may pick two.
