    Another torch............ F'n post office!!!

I bought a nice Victor 48", 2600 series, 180* head torch. Upon arrival, it looks as though it will be useful for cutting around the corner. F'n post office just doesn't give two hoots bout anything. Like that is a surprise. I contacted the seller, and explained what happened. He refunded $30, so I am very pleased. I managed to get it almost perfect, and it works fine. If you're gonna ship something, pack it well.

Things like that just really piss me off. I've gotten to the point when I order I demand UPS ... Fedx for rural Oklahoma is the worst. USPS won't even drive up the lane to the shop or the house ... they leave a pickup at the post office notice.

UPS and the Post Office are both quite experienced at f'ing things up. You have to pack defensively!

I have had serious damage with UPS as well as USPS. Looks to me like a terrible packing job on the part of the seller. The last torch (Airco), that I bought on Ebay came to me wrapped in quadruple bubble paper, caccooned in wads of newspaper, packed tighly in an oversized box. No damage at all. I imagine it's tricky to pack a 4' torch like that though.

The last package I got by UPS took about 6 phone calls and then I had to drive 40 miles to pick it up. I concur that this package wasn't wrapped properly. I would have stuck it in a plastic pipe filled with sterofoam peanuts.

If you left it like it was and mounted a camera on the end and a small screen on the handle you could have used it to cut around corners without fear of getting burned!

Hey, I was happy to get $30 off the already low price. But since I bought a "straight" torch...................

You should have paid more for that, special application tools are more expensive.

Horrible packaging! Did it even say fragile on it? The torches new have fragile all over them and come in a heavy cardboard tube. PVC or even a tube like blueprints are carried would have been better. Those torches are pretty tough though. I sold new ones to replace mangled ones at a scrap yard. It was scary to think people used them like that.

dualie read my mind. Was thinking how muck would 4' of pipe cost if nothing else a heavy cardboard tube. Would have cost the seller way less than 30 bucks but at least the seller was helpful

Is that thing for cleaning out gutters? Seems excessively long for most work.

Esab makes a torch 18 feet long! Needs 3 people to hold it like a fire hose.

Never had a problem with USPS or FedEx ground. I think UPS takes your package and throws it off a tall building and if it survives, the driver runs it over. Then when you file a claim, they deny it because of insufficient packaging.

Seller is at fault! I recently sold a 36" item that probably would have bent. I spent the better part of an hour making a sturdy double walled box to contain it for shipping.(not to survive tall building falls and being driven over)
