    I see it as unlikely that we'll ban entire countries. Also, most of the IP addresses are across the map. I look for range patterns when I can, but it's not like all the spam comes from the 46.130.*

    I know it's tedious, but another forum I visit has a real names policy and an admin must approve new members. It's not totally foolproof, but there have only been one or two spammers on that site in all the years I have belonged there.

    Another consideration might be seeking out trustworthy mods who have delete privileges in all forums and/or user admin privs. That way, when a spammer shows up, they can kill the account in short order.

    I know it's a big PITA to keep these forums unclogged because I do mod on another vbulletin site.
