I'm just a home hobbyist, and not a very good welder, but I'm ready to move beyond my faithful little Lincoln Weldpak 100.

Are there any 220v MIG welders that are still made in the U.S.? I've been looking around on websites but they aren't always clear about country of origin, which leads to believe they're all made in China now.

Thanks

Curt

A lot of the Miller and Hobart stuff is assembled here in the US. I doubt all the components are US made, but that's going to be the case with many things today in this global economy.

As pointed out, Hobart and Miller products are assembled in the USA from foreign and USA sourced components. With Lincoln some are USA assembled and others aren't. You'd have to call Lincoln to find out the answer to which units are USA assembled.

You can't blame someone for trying to keep their money close to home. We used to be a country that made and exported products. Today we are a country of consumers and import more than we export. School teachers may think college is the end all be all of things, but manufacturing jobs paid a lot better than counter help at McD's which is where so many of these kids with BS degrees end up after accruing all that debt.
