    OSHA Has Some Issues

I am doing the 30 hour OSHA course because here in NY every 5 years now the city demands you retake the test.

I am taking the test and the test is mostly about playing games with the English language that I have concerns they are not totally fluent in.

Here are some excerpts from the materials you are supposed to learn.

In this first example, they are instructing us to make sure that pipe joints or vessels that carry flammable gas or liquid be liquid tight. Ha-ha
If you are not familiar with the difficulty of sealing a leaky joint carrying gas verses a joint carrying liquid, this might not be as funny to you. It is probably ten times harder to seal a joint that is going to carry a gas then it is to seal a joint that is going to carry a liquid.

In this next example they claim that if you have a bad valve on a tank and it is not the packing nut or gland nut as they put it that is leaking. And the regulator stops the leak, you can keep using the tank. Now call me crazy but when the regulator on this tank goes, or there is a fire at the regulator what are you going do?

You know darn well if you leave a cylinder on the cart with a regulator on it, someone is going to use it. Because you cannot cap it and remove it from the work area.

Regulation by committee. It didn't work out well for the Russians.

It is definitely socialist training, of that I have no doubts. KTF or Kill the Farmer is what they should call it, in reference to the book and movie animal farm. They are blaming all the problems of science and taxation on the business owner.

The soil types and names of the different soil types are a bit much to keep with you.

The way they play around with the words competent, and qualified is definitely not healthy for the mind.

    Re: OSHA Has Some Issues

I just took the exam early this morning. I got a 95 on the final exam. I was only averaging about 79 on all the quizzes. Just glad it is over.

Straw pig only thought he was important, stick pig had some pull but not as much as brick pig who now owns the assets of straw and stick as well as his own and he looking at yours and mine too. Such is the world we live in. It's going to the (brick) pigs.
