Manokai, what size horse shoes did you use for the wine rack?

@ DSW - always use Size "1" to accomodate both Red n White wine bottles. White bottles tend to have a larger circumference. Note, our TSC usually carries Size "00", "0", and sometimes "1". Cost savings big time using a farrier vs TSC.

We use a local farrier who has every conceivable steel/aluminum horseshoe under the sun.

Thanks. It receives lots of compliments, mostly because of its asymmetry.

The owl ended up having fork feet because I couldn't come up with anything else to use for feet and didn't want to screw around with nails. I think they'd be set off more if the pliers I'd used for the beak and ears had been newer and shinier.

Horseshoe pumpkin makes a great door stop. It appears that your shoes are pretty thick looking at picture.
I painted some orange with a beige stem and a couple others plain. The orange ones sold first. I saw another one posted here with green stem. What's your color ?

I am a little late to the pumpkin party, but here is mine.
Made this one for Patti and put the ribbon on for her.

I like the "ribbon" idea. Those in pink for Breast Cancer would probably do well.

I think your right. Until Patti got lymphoma, I thought pink was the only color. I think there is like 18 or so colors.

Nice growing those pumpkins. I prefer the 8 shoe pumpkins over the 6 shoe ones too .
I gotta make some more since I sold the last one. I think I'll make a four sided one with a plate on top for a Halloween pumpkin. Turkey might be another one to do.

I was running short on shoes and one customer suggested a six shoe one but i told her she would like it...not as full. She later agreed.
Like to see that turkey when you get it made.

    Re: New Horseshoe art Sticky

So I'm at the feed store and I'm looking at an eagle that's been sitting out. I see the price tag on it of $200 and my first thoughts are this thread and all the people fabricating goodies from horse shoes and selling them. I happened to have my camera on me. I took as many photos of it from different angles as I could for y'all hoping maybe one of you could create your own version of the eagle and sell it.

One thing though.... I asked the gal if he ever sold any of his eagles. She said they were literally flying off her shelves at $125 and that as fast as he would make one... it would be gone but that he hadn't sold an eagle since his wife upped the price to $200.

    Re: New Horseshoe art Sticky

Rough guess is that there's at least 20-25 shoes in that eagle. Assuming $3 each on shoes, He's probably not making much at $125

WOW !! It's nice, however , I would avoid the horizontal piece for the wings. Just using shoes may have a cleaner look.

    Thanks for sharing !
