    Question Digital Elite Question ?

Hello, I am going to be taking a beginning arc welding class at my school and it will be my first time stick welding and tig welding. Can anyone give me some settings for these kinds of welding ?

Download a welding calculator onto your phone. There is a free one that is pretty fair at the millerwelds.com site.

Oh, do you mean for the hood? If so, shade 10, the delay is how long the shade sticks after you break the arc, mine is near minimum, but a little delay would be nice if until you get rid of the random arc strikes.

I use shade 11 for everything, some people use 10, I find that it is too bright and hurts my eyes after a while.

Adjust the sensitivity by looking at the brightest light source visible from your location, then turning up the sensitivity until it goes dark, then back off a notch or two. This will eliminate false triggers from overhead lights, the sun, etc.

The delay setting controls how long it stays dark after you finish welding. Not really critical... its used for situations like when you're running pulse and the hood is constantly switching states and you cant see anything.
