I made a couple of roosters. One for my mail carrier and one for my neighbor who gives me fresh eggs from her chickens.
This was done on a friends table

Rattle can then spray a little on a paintbrush and dry brush it on.

It's that kinda new-fangled technology that put us blacksmiths out of business. Used to be you had to work hard if you wanted a bit of chain, then some idiot comes along with a "machine" that allows any schlub to simply turn a crank and produce all the chain he wants for pennies on the dollar! How's a man supposed to support his family?!?!? Shameful, I tall ya. Absolutely shameful!

That is some very nice work. His abstract sculptures are the type I really like and want to become better at making.

With the current prices of steel I think many will be reconsidering spending the extra time to clean used scrap for their projects.

Thanks to BD1 and PSA for their reviews on burnishing ( surface contour) tools as it excelled at cleaning surface rust off contoured areas like this 6" pipe.

I wish I had purchased one sooner.

I've been wanting some Walter tools ever since I first saw them on Jimbo's Garage. Walter sure is proud of what they make!

Re: Scrap metal art or projects

The latest addition to the work shop arrived this morning.
An Arclight Dynamics 4x8 plasma table with a Hypertherm 65.
I went ahead and purchased the optical tracer, engraver, and tube cutting attachments as well.
I need to run my electric lines, a few parts to the air system and figiure out where to mount everything. I am thinking of putting the plasma cutter up on the wall so it is out of the way and better protected.
I am also already thinking of a swing arm or gantry style lifting attachment to move material.

Exciting times, Pat! This should open up a whole new venue of what you can do yourself.

I'm certain you will be glad you opted for the extra accessories.

    Congratulations.

Does the cutter have a water table under the cutting area?
If not,, you better plan on a tremendous size ventilation system to extract the smoke.

I ran one for 8+ years,, it was located next to a 10X12 foot roll up door.
We used a 4 foot fan to blow the fumes out of the door.
That fan ran anytime the torch was used, no matter how cold it was outside.

I never ran one with water, you may still need some sort of exhaust?

Yes, it has a water table. I have been to a friends shop who did not have a water pan so know what you are talking. I have also been to another friend's shop who had a water table. It is a night and day difference.

I also have it near that window on purpose. I can set up a fan to vent as needed.
