IF you need a flat/ smooth roller and plan to purchase...don't.

Instead, choose another style such as these that roll flat bar on edge.

There are many other styles that will in addition to rolling specialized shapes ( angle iron etc) work fine for rolling flat bar.

And yes Bob needs to get a lathe

A lathe ?? My kids keep telling me to get rid of stuff...
Since I disposed of so much stuff, I do have room now.

Lathe, mill and plasma table can get a lot of fabrication projects done.

Edit: They can help get materials shaped to speed up the process of getting projects done.

When I built my Plate Roller I wanted it to have 13" wide rollers. I used a combination of solid shaft and DOM tubes, I bought 12" DOM tubing from Speedy Metals, it was cheaper to by 12" section than by the inch to get the 13" length. I plasma cut 1/2" donuts on my table and welded them on each end to get the 13" width. Turned them on the lathe to smooth to the diameter of the DOM tube. I rolled the parts for a rail road cart wheels shown in the last image.

    Nice work.

Don't think you would want to price DOM today

Lay the TIG beads around the cut out heart?
The thing is so damn heavy I was thinking of cutting few inches off at a diagonal angle to lighten it up. What do you think?
Does your Stricker stay internal, Huge from a rope? Or a mallet to strike the outside?

I would leave yours like you have it.
Beads around the cut out heart might be too much since you already have beads on the back side.

I make something like an eye bolt, drill a hole in the top of the bell, then weld the eye. The striker stay inside.
Then add whatever decorations on top.

The rooftop cats are for a niece and her boyfriend, the other cats are for kids. I'm brushing salt water onto the roof to see if I can get a good patina on it.

Re: Scrap metal art or projects

Don’t know how I will use them yet but I picked up this bucket of BIG wrenches for $10.

Probably more than I should have spent but the seller threw in a FREE tinsmith hammer.

I cleaned up a wrench before dinner just to see how it would look….

Send those wrenches to Shootr...no telling what he will come up with!!

Us blacksmith types would take the double ones, cut 'em in half and make bottle openers out of them and the rest.

Hi Reebz. Not certain if that question was addressed to me or not but no.

    I wouldn't have the patience.

One set of friends (married couple) enjoy frequenting them and will grab me bargains if they come across any.

Another retired friend frequents estate sales etc and gathers tool for resale.

His prices are always reasonable and I get a lot of small items from him.

Yes. But it barely made a dent in the stack of tanks I have.
